New Mexico's economy centers on government and public-sector employment—driven by federal research facilities, military installations, and a large state government presence—alongside education and health services, professional and business services, and a mining and energy sector tied to the state's oil and gas production. As of August 2026, New Mexico's unemployment rate stood at 4.7%, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Businesses navigating this mix of large public-sector institutions and smaller private employers often need software that connects legacy government-adjacent systems with modern tools, or that helps growing companies operate efficiently without the overhead of enterprise software built for a different scale. FreedomDev's [custom software development](/services/custom-software-development) and [systems integration](/services/systems-integration) experience is built around exactly that kind of practical, right-sized approach.
